The Friday Jam! Sunset Drumming @ Ocean Reef

Ocean Reef at the Marina - on the Last Friday of Every Month - a Drum Jam Session, with djembe drums, conga latin style, Arabic darbuka drummers, saxophone players, didgeridoo players, freestyle singers and dancers, will be all most welcome! Experienced fire artists, please make contact before just turning up to twirl, to confirm understanding of safety issues.

Our aim is to create an energised space, a dance circle in a beautiful space at sunset, where improvised music and mindful movement will unite those who have the will to be united!

The Friday Jam! is not intended to be a spectacle to passively watch & listen to - rather, come along and be prepared to engage. Everyone can play, dance or sing something. If you're spotted, sitting around looking like a wallflower, be prepared to have a shaker put into your hand to shake!

- Behave nicely.
- Respect those with good intent.
- No unsociable behavior will be tolerated.
- Leave absolutely NO litter on our beach, including cigarette butts!

Please - be willing to give $5 each on the night, towards the managing, maintenance, admin & equipment of this group. Please remove rings from your fingers before playing hand drums and don't use sticks on djembe skins. Please return all hand percussion instruments, including shakers & cowbell sticks, to the box at the end of the session. With your proactive financial support we can grow this group into an ongoing local community event. 

Please let me know if you can help set the space by bringing solar lights or flags or other decor - we'll set-up from 5 pm in the grassy area by the lower car park.
