Learn to Dance Redcliffe - Friday Night Fun

This group is for anyone wanting to learn how to partner dance and wanting a fun night out on a Friday night. Modern Jive is a modern style of dance that is danced to current top 40 songs and attracts people of all ages, not to be mistaken for an OLD time jive. It is definitely the easiest form of partner dance if you have never danced and people who learn the style enjoy dancing anywhere there is music playing – clubs, work functions, cruises, weddings. Our Friday night class provides a fun night out to finish off a long week and is a great way to kick start the weekend. It is a fantastic way to meet people and a few hours on the dance floor will ensure your fit bit clocks up plenty of steps.

With our friendly environment you will be assisted in picking up the technique and dance moves by dancing with more experienced dancers in the rotating class – you do not need a partner to participate, many people attend without partners. Better still bring along some friends!!!

Every night we cater for new dancers by going over the basic techniques – foot work, connection, lead and follow. We then apply the technique to a 3-4 move sequence and by the end of the class you can practice what you have learnt in the lesson as well as previous week’s lessons. Overtime you create your own sequences with your favourite moves.

Class starts at 7.30pm and finishes at 9.30pm. You are most welcome to join us after class at the Redcliffe RSL where we relax, socialise and dance the night away to the band. Venue: CWA Hall Redcliffe (189 Redcliffe Parade, Redcliffe – next to courthouse)
