Dancing the Blues in San Diego

This meetup is organized by Elizabeth Kilrain, the organizer for Blue Note - San Diego's monthly pure blues social dance. We welcome suggestions for meetups from other organizers as well, but our focus will be on blues dancing (not fusion, rockabilly, zydeco, etc.) and Black history.

Our vision is to offer consistent events for the exploration and development of the blues vernacular dances in San Diego. As the name implies, our love here is the blues - all 100 years (and counting) of the rich and living history of blues music and dancing - and that is the type of music and dancing that will be offered.

There are many venues in San Diego that offer other dances with blues. We enjoy many of those dances and encourage you to go explore them and find your passion. We also believe that to really grow in love and understanding of a subject, you have to spend time immersed it. We are passionate about the blues and truly believe you will love it as well.
