Contra Dance at False Creek Community Centre

Dance to live fiddle music, accompanied by stand up bass, percussion and marimba. All the dances are taught on the spot by a dance caller. Contra dancing is similar to square dancing. IT'S AN URBAN BARN DANCE. No experience is necessary. Participants don't need to bring a partner. At contra dances strangers feel free to ask each other to dance. If you are new to contra dancing it's a good idea to attend the beginners session at 6:45 pm, just before the dance starts.
