Saturday 23 November 6:15 pm
This is the second in a regular series of Queer Tango Lessons and social Dances.
Just as in the October event There will be a beginners/fundamentals lesson for all followed by a Practice/Social dance afterwords. The lesson will last around an hour or so with the Practice dance (Practica) starting at around 7.30-ish and continuing until noone is left or 10pm when we have to leave the Hall.
Your teachers will help you take the first steps on the road to dancing this passionate and intimate dance as Tango is a language established between two bodies that flow with sensuality. Even if you have taken the lesson before please do repeat it as the fundamentals are something even the most experienced dancers returns to time and time again.
The Beechwood club is situated in Fishponds on Beechwood road behind the Old Post Office. There is a free car park next door to the club and Fishponds is well served by the numbers 17, 48 (and 48A), 49 (and X49) and 5 buses. Additionally the Bristol/Bath cycle path runs just behind the location.
There will be some snacks and water provided and please feel free to bring your own refreshments. There are several pubs in the area if anyone wants to get a drink after the dancing.
Ideally bring along some light footwear with a slippy sole (ideally leather) and avoid trainers and rubber soles but please do not let a lack of footwear deter you - we will have temporary socks to place over your shoes that give a degree of slip or we can provide some duct tape to wrap around your shoes that also gives the right degree of slip (although do not wear nice shoes if you wish to use the duct tape solution). You can also just dance in socks if you prefer.
The lesson will be £7 as before and includes the Practica. If you just want to come along to the Practica and social dance then the charge will be £5.
